Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon Juan Carlos Gafo launched Monday the Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplant Project in Lebanon at the Order of Physicians headquarters in the Beirut suburb of Furn al-Shebbak. The $150,000 project was funded by the National Organization for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplant, and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development. The project will develop organ donation and transplant procedures to improve equality within the public health system; provide professional training for physicians and medical employees; and raise awareness about organ donation and transplants through the media.
